The unexpected isn't the risk. It's an invitation to transformation.

Much of modern life is scheduled, scripted and optimized. We see and hear more people than ever through screens and headphones, yet encounter so few of them in our bodies. It has never been easier, or more encouraged, to avoid the stranger.

I design for human ecotones. In nature, an ecotone is where two distinct ecosystems meet: a shore, a coral reef, a tree line. They are the most transformative, innovative and resilient places on Earth — not the safe middle of either system, but the edge.

I've come to believe that every other person is an ecotone. Learning to meet them there, open and willing to be changed, is the most important capacity we can build right now. Expanding it is what I design for. It's what transforms us: our teams, our culture, our world.
